Curriculum Review for the 2024 Chemistry Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta

On Friday, May 17, 2024, the Chemistry Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta conducted a curriculum redesign workshop at the Swiss-Belhotel Yogyakarta. The event featured a guest speaker, Prof. Indriana Kartini, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., a faculty member from the Chemistry Program at UGM. During the workshop, the guest speaker reviewed the existing curriculum and provided input for ASIIN accreditation.

Several key considerations emerged during the curriculum improvement discussions. First, there is a need to convert credit hours (SKS) to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) to streamline the accreditation process. This conversion will eliminate the need for further revisions when applying for ASIIN accreditation. Additionally, clear communication of improvement plans is essential to ensure that assessors understand the ongoing enhancement efforts. Other areas for revision include optimizing student study duration, mapping the relationship between Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) and Student Subject Competencies (SSCs), and refining laboratory practical processes.

Overall, the Biology Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta is well-prepared to seek ASIIN accreditation. The curriculum redesign workshop also involved valuable input from current students and alumni, who shared practical suggestions based on their experiences. The goal is to continuously enhance the program’s quality and achieve the desired learning outcomes for graduates.
