PLD is The Center for Disability Service at The State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. PLD was founded on May, 2nd 2007, and was known as the Center for Research and Disability Services (PSLD).
The establishment of PLD was inspired by the experience of the founders and the disabled students who have studied at UIN (IAIN) Sunan Kalijaga before PLD stood. PLD has now become a structural institution under the Institute for Research and Community Services (LP2M) UIN Sunan Kalijaga.
In the current academic year, PLD provides services to 55 students with disabilities at the university, which consist of students with visual impairment, hearing impairment, and physical impairment. Besides as a service unit, PLD also acts as a study center that does academic research on various disability issues such as disability and Islam, inclusive education, access to employment, policy studies related to the rights of the disabled, and others.
Objective
In Indonesia, the laws guarantee appropriate educational services for each person with disabilities at all levels of the system. Disabled students have the same rights as non-disabled students, PLD aims to minimize environmental and attitudinal barriers academic which happened to students with disabilities. So, they can have the same opportunity and participation with other students.
Vision
UIN is an inclusive university and is prominent in promoting the rights of students with disabilities in Indonesia.

- Formulating policies to implement the vision of UIN Sunan Kalijaga as an inclusive university.
- Designing programs to build the UIN capacity in fulfilling the rights and the needs of students with disabilities.
- Promoting research and academic publication in the field of disability studies and inclusive education.
